QuickDriverInstaller 1.4 Released
Posted by Stefan Geißler on March 9, 2007
If a plug & play device, such as the DFK 21AF04 FireWire cameras is swapped out, its driver must be re-installed. To assist in this re-installation, I have developed a small application:
- QuickDriverInstaller
It runs in the background and installs all The Imaging Source drivers automatically, when a new plug & play video capture device is connected to the computer for the first time.
Imagine you have to add or exchange a camera in your customer's computer. By using QuickDriverInstaller, only the new camera must be connected to the computer. A few seconds later, the driver is correctly installed and the camera can be used. No further administration, nor installation are necessary.
The QuickDriverInstaller installs the drivers for following devices automatically:
- All DCam cameras, manufactured by The Imaging Source, such as DFK 21AF04 and all astronomy cameras
- DFG/1394-1e, Video to 1394 Converter
- DFG/USB2-lt, Video to USB 2.0 Converter
When QuickDriverInstaller is running, a camera icon appears in the system tray of Windows. It is compatible with:
- Windows XP™
- Windows Vista™ 32bit
You can download the QuickDriverInstaller setup from the Tools & Utilities section of this web site.
